An Important Message To All

Dear swimmers and parents,

There are some big changes coming to Island Swim.  As of January 14th, 2019, Island Swim, as it currently stands, will no longer be offering Swim Lessons and is seeking new ownership.   

 

This was one of the most difficult and deeply emotional decisions I’ve had to make in a long time as Island Swim has been a big part of my life for over 13 years – taking the business from a handful of clients here and there to a fully functioning and accredited swim school with over 30,000 total lessons given in that time span.  I am going to sincerely miss the smiling faces, (both children and adults!) and the pure joy of watching a swimmer try out a new skill, first with trepidation, and then with excitement as they realize they can really do it! Nothing in the world can replace that feeling.  Looking back, I feel nothing but blessed to have been given the opportunity to provide this service to so many and to have worked with some of the greatest clients someone could ever have wished for. It is however time to pass the proverbial baton on to the next…

 

So why is Island Swim closing?  I was offered a position with a large pool management group and will be managing the regions of Savannah, Bluffton, and Hilton Head. In my 45 years here on this planet I have either participated or worked in just about every facet of the aquatics industry. Needless to say, pools themselves have become a big part of my life and the management area of the industry is the final frontier for me where I can once again step outside of my personal comfort zone and challenge myself with something new.  It will be a steep learning curve, combined with a lot of work, but I welcome it.  In addition, at age 45 I also need to realize that the often-repetitive motions used during teaching and the endless hours of exposure to the chlorine water and sun are slowly beginning to show their signs on me physically.

 

I realize with the sudden departure of Island Swim there will be a void to fill when it comes to finding lessons in the Bluffton area.  Not to leave anyone without the opportunity for swim lessons, I am actively searching for someone to fill my shoes.  When I do find someone, I will post the information here. That being said, if you know anyone who may be interested in owning their own swim school or just teaching in general please let me know!

SUMMER 2018

Summer Swim School
Summer class registration will open April 2nd!

First session of classes begins June 4th.

Island Swim is pleased to once again offer its Summer Swim Program.  Group or Private lessons available, all skill levels welcome, ages 6 months - Adult. Group classes never exceed four swimmers to give as much individual time to each student as possible. *Parent and Me classes may have up to five participants in them.

 Lessons are held in Bluffton, SC

What makes the summer program unique?
When a student acquires a new swimming skill, that skill is reinforced and built upon day   .......... after day for two weeks, thereby accelerating the overall learning curve. .......            In other words, more skills are learned in less time!

SUMMER 2018 SESSION DATES and RATES 

Session I   June 4 - 15 

Session II   June 18 - 29   

Session III  July 9 - 20   

Session IV  July 23 - Aug 3

Classes take place daily Monday-Friday for two weeks. 10 total classes.  

COST

Group Lessons $160 for a session of 10 lessons

Private Lessons $310 for a session of 10 lessons

*Semi Private/Small Group lessons 2:1/ 3:1 are also available upon request.

* Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.  Reservations are considered complete and locked in once a 50% deposit is received within 10 days of booking the session. If no deposit is received  after 10 days, Island Swim reserves the right to reassign the session/time slot to another party.
